Today is a day of mourning, remembering and should be the DAY that all people - say enough - We need common sense gun legislation. Legislation that the NRA (National Rifle Association) knee jerk rejects and castigate and threaten those who bring up the subject.

The Fox News Five (4) said We can't discuss the issue of 'Gun Control' today ( Monday, October 2, 2017)... and a panelist said 'give up specifice - for legislation etc.. ignoring the FACT that after every mass shooting - real concrete suggestions are made and ignored, made fun off, scoffed at and killed by the NRA and its bought and paid for Legislators (both local and national).

Brainwashed NRA members who think the US 2nd Amendment means that they can possess and carry guns wherever and whenever they want.
Since 2011 there has been 18 (18) Mass Shootings in the United States of America...Newtown, San Bernadino, Aurora, Oakland, Oak Creek, Minneapolis, Fort Hood, Isla Vista, Charleston, Chattanooga, Orlando - etc etc etc on and on.

Las Vegas, the WORST MASS SHOOTING IN AMERICA, (59 DEAD - 526 INJURED and still counting) by a wealthy White Male (w/m) who had ten (10) guns (some altered to automatic weapons), who shot from the 32nd floor of a hotel on a happy Country Music concert - turned deadly, bloody and forever a stain on American history.
We need enforcement of current gun laws, with all agencies dealing with gun enforcement fully funded (ATF budget was cut) more agents are needed to investigate and trace stolen guns.

We need better checks of gun store sales records and reporting, especially in the South West but every gun store must be audited regularly, with violations noted and prosecuted.

We need a BAN on the sale of all military style assault weapons and large capacity magazines. The AK47 is supposedly the best and there is a US made version, but in every Sunday paper military style assault weapons are offered for sale, and since President Obama has left office the prices have dropped, making them more affordable.
We need better and faster background checks on all persons trying to purchasing a weapon.

We need more laws controlling the sale of guns / rifles at Gun Shows.

We need a BAN on sale of guns via the Internet - now.

We need a BAN on the manufacture of realistic toy guns !!! and non lethal guns that look like real hand guns and rifles. Since
We need more training with the purchase of a weapon, a person must take a course on how to shoot, when to shoot and the responsibility of gun ownership. Just because you buy a gun doesn't mean you know - how to shoot it.

We just had two young children shot by a 2 year old who found an unsecured gun, in Dearborn. In Dearborn Heights several unsecured weapons were stolen from a home as the occupants slept (including an AK47). In Detroit numerous children have been shot and killed by children who found a gun or who were playing with a gun.

We can't blame mass shootings on Arabs or Mexicans...they are the W/Ms doing it to America and we must put a stop to it - with effective and common sense gun laws - starting today.

This moving telling of a history most young people don't know and others want to forget, over 500,000 soldiers lived through and their families can't forget (58,220 fatal casualties and unknown MIAs) - is a must watch view of American War History - as we have President Trump and his supporters, who see "America First" and 'Our Country - Right or Wrong" is a disastrous position to take in the 21st Century.

We were defeated in Viet Nam... (but now it is a trading partner, aren't Trump's very expensive ties made there ???) because the Vietnamese didn't want us there...Iraqi - the people don't want us there... Afghanistan (16 yrs) the people don't want us there... Negotiations may seem weak to Trump - who said repeatedly "I am the best deal maker in the World" but hasn't made a deal to make the USA safer or the World a safer place to live.

WAR...what is it good for....Absolutely Nothing...

The Viet Nam War documentary on PBS is a stunning light shown on the shadows and darkness of the American Government and its leaders and lessons should be learned. We need to hold leaders accountable !!! We need leaders who can listen to the Truth even if they don't agree with it and take reasonable actions that make us all safer.
The Viet Nam War documentary is not an easy watch - if you can remember the War - it brings back long suppressed thoughts of where you were and what we you doing through this long bloody War - for those who fought it and their families it may be impossible to watch, but it should be celebrated that this War - has been remembered and put in a video form that future generations, can watch and hopefully learn from the lessons of history - so they don't repeat them - as WE have done. Two Michigan legislators (Abdullah Hammoud D-Dearborn and Brian Elder D-Bay City) are trying to fool, scam, mislead their constituents and Michigan residents by introducing HB 4924 to give more information to fireworks buyers and to protect children Their Bill is an attempt to do nothing but look like they are doing something while the whole Michigan Legislature does nothing to repeal the dangerous and deadly fireworks legislation they previously passed - to get tax dollars only !!!

LANSING, MI - Two state representatives are pushing for changes to the state's fireworks rules.
Rep. Abdullah Hammoud, D-Dearborn, introduced House Bill 4924. It would require those who sell fireworks to post a sign in a conspicuous place reminding buyers of any limitation on the hours and days of ignition, local ordinances regarding fireworks and limitations on using fireworks on others' property.
The sign would also have to include safety reminders like the prohibition of use by minors, limitations on the use of fireworks while under the influence of alcohol and a person's liability for damage or injury caused by fireworks.

"Throughout the summer, we received numerous constituent complaints about fireworks, and it is clear that reform is needed," Hammoud said. "The fireworks law is not likely to be repealed anytime soon, so let's make it safer. Our intent is to promote and increase the responsible use of fireworks."
Rep. Brian Elder, D-Bay City, is the sponsor of House Bill 4295. It would prohibit minors from discharging or using consumer fireworks without the presence of an adult.
"Michigan's fireworks law was changed in 2011 to allow adults to purchase more powerful fireworks," Elder said. "I can't think of one good reason why minors should be able to use these dangerous explosives without the supervision of an adult. Most importantly, this proposal aims to prevent injuries to our state's children as well as reduce property damage and wildfires."

President Trump is a Danger to the US and the World when he 'tweets' a wholly unprofessional way to make and disseminate national or foreign policy. He 'tweets' about North Korea - place the US and the World in serious danger of a War...that would immediately kill over 100,000 South Koreans and Americans (soldiers).

Several years ago, when Republicans were stomping and ruminating about President Obama's actions with Iran and its Nuclear Program - I suggested and warned that North Korea was a much more immediate and serious threat.

Iran would be limited to the use of any weapons because it is surrounded by Arab countries, if it attacked Israel - all those countries would be in Danger.

North Korea has NO limitations it is willing to Kill thousands of South Koreans and allow thousands of its citizens to be killed at the whim of its Ruler.

Trump is Dangerous...his does not understand US Policy and the power of his 'tweets' - which he sees as a way to communicate with his Base of supporters, at the expense of the US - World reputation

Trump railed and fulminated that President Obama was a 'weak President' but Trump has made the US Presidency a laughing stock and disrespected World wide. He talks tough but doesn't realize the consequences of his 'tweets' and changing - daily, weekly - US policy, both domestically and internationally.

PS: Hello All.... Read my post !!! I did not comment, in any negative way about the bombing of HIroshima and Nagasaki - we were at War... I commented on Trump Trump and his 'tweets' that has endangered South Korea, US Soldiers stationed there and now we hear Guam has been threatened.

Trump is a bully, has NO foreign of domestic policies and changes his mind hourly, daily, weekly - Nothing he said during the Campaign had been the TRUTH, and he and his spokespeople continue to LIE to Americans. Trump 'tweets' are not Presidential or helpful to the Presidency..... The President is the Leader of the Free World and needs to act and speak like one - Trump cannot communicate on a Presidential level - listen to his "tweets', his speeches, which are of the cuff and disjointed or stiff and obviously not his real feelings (when he uses a teleprompter).

We must survive three and a half years with President Trump - he must become a President that we can all respect and he must respect the Presidency and the World view of his Presidency - so far he has lost respect at home and in the World.

DETROIT POLICE...BILLIONAIRES...PUBLIC SAFETY - NOW

I have sent the below email to numerous media outlets and Legislatures, Mayor and City Council with NO RESPONSE...Why ???? Is asking Billionaires to pay to protect their 'sports' palaces and the public - not worth a discussion. Is asking the millions of Suburbanites who frequent these 'sports' palaces too much considering that they were financed, in part, with Detroit tax payer dollars ($$$$$$ millions of them.

Email: The Legislature needs to allow Detroit to add a $2.00 surcharge to every entertainment ticket sold for a Detroit venue - CoMerica Park, the Fox Theater, Ford Field, State Theater, Music Hall, and the new Ilitch Ice (Red Wing) etc...with those funds dedicated to hiring new police officers, with higher hiring standards (2 -4 yrs of college / military) and better training....too long has Ilitch and Ford and others taken advantage of Detroit tax payers and the Detroit Police Department by not paying for their services - which is down in every other major city, just do it..

Detroit Police had 854 police officers = DOWNTOWN - during the Fireworks....later, a woman had her home broken into, in broad daylight, and it took DPD Officers - four and a half (4 1/2) hours to respond, saying they had 12 priority runs stacked up.

Detroit Police has a documented staff shortage, I suggested that DPD needed 1,000 new officers (that was a long time ago) and Chief James Craig says he needs 1,500 new officers. DPD is NOT properly protecting the residents of Detroit - because - THEY CAN'T.... and the situation will get worse with the opening of the new Ilitch Red Wing 'sports' palace, which will include many internationally known musical artist performing there, adding to the need for more DPD Officers - where are they coming from???

DPD cannot properly hire and retain police officers, because of low pay and benefits - many graduate the Academy and immediately turn in their badges for Suburban police badges, whee the pay and benefits are so much better.

So Governor Snyder, Michigan Legislators, Mayor Duggan and Detroit City Council - it is up to you to find the funding for the Detroit Police Department in Lansing, Washington, Troy, Southfield, W Bloomfield, Birmingham - wherever the money is DPD needs it for PUBIC SAFETY, how many murders will have to occur of Suburbanites before they act.

DEMOCRATS NEED LEADERS AND A PLAN...TO WIN NOW.... 2017

DEMOCRATS - FIND A LEADER / PLATFORM....

A popular saying is going around:
Democrats have 70 year old members and 80 year old leaders.

It's would be funny if not true...Democrats who had to oppose the withering opposition of Republicans, who HATED everything President Obama, said or did --- have now got to suffer having Donald Trump, as the Republican President presiding with a Republican Congress and soon maybe, a Supreme Court.

But what has been the Democratic response - nothing, just talk, oppose and do nothing - When they should be finding a new Leader, younger leadership, and developing a Health Care initiative to fix 'Obamacare', to counter the morass that Republicans have been sucked into.

Democrats need to develop a 'tax reform' program that is an alternative to 'tax breaks for the rich', They need to set an spending agenda and the tax structure to support it and a path to fiscal responsibility.

Democrats need to show Why 'climate change' matters to blue collar, middle class people, who need to make a living now - and can wait out dramatic climate change long in the future.

Democrats must fight 'gerrymandering' in every State, to make sure that everyone VOTE counts, not just in 'safe' districts. They need to make it fair to Democrats and Republicans and Independents so that anyone can win and election based on their plans and policies - not their Party.
Democrats must admit - they lost - and need to rebuild the Party.. The Republicans held a 'coming to Jesus' meeting to expand their Party, they didn't follow the plan, but won anyway.

Democrats have a chance to reverse the horrendous losses, but they must start NOW and work to bring people together with solid plans and programs to bring American together.

Health Care, Taxes, foreign, social and environmental policies must be formed and supported and presented to the American people - so that the see the difference between Democrats and Republicans.
