Gander Mountain, is nationally advertising an IMPACT SEAL SHOOTING STAR - PRO PACK, of three orange neon police / sheriffs style badges - for the public to purchase and shoot at - it has three (3) sizes for all shooting applications, and takes up to 1,000 rounds.
We just had two police officers shot in Detroit, Texas had a prosecutor and his wife shot and killed, Colorado had a prison official killed, and over the last 5 days other police officers have been killed around the country. The number of law enforcement officers killed each year, in the line of duty, is rising.
This advertisement if offensive, insulting, and dangerous and should not be advertised or even sold.
Gander Mountain customer service reps (Shawn and Cody)did not recognize this historically shaped badge item as police related - OMG how stupid are they !!!!
And worse is that no one in the Gander Mountain Company objected to buying, promoting and selling this item.
Who do they think their market is for this: the KKK member in central Mississippi who vowed that a 'race war' would occur if President Obama was re-elected, miliitia members who worship their assault weapons and hate the US government, a moonshiner in Tennesse or Kentucky who fears that their 'stills' will be smashed and the moonshine jug will be ripped from their hands, the psychotic - lonely person sitting in his room waiting for his day to 'shine', fanatical National Rifle Association (NRA) members who deify their assault weapons, handguns, shotguns, and anything else that goes boom or can kill someone and who can't believe their is 'common sense' gun legislation ????? - all who see law enforcement officers as the enemy of their 'god' given constitutional rights.
What next - a Christian Cross, a Star of David - ???? ....WWJD ??

DETROIT - KWAME KILPATRICK, GUILTY
Detroit: Kwame Kilpatrick - Guilty...Justice Served...
XXX Detroit Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick was found guilty of 20/24 Federal crimes and his boyhood friend, contractor - Bobby Ferguson was also convicted of 9 Federal crimes, a good day for Detroit and for the Federal Judicary System.
The Federal Jury System covering Detroit has been shown to be fair, honest and racially able to sit in judgement of high profile African American men and render a fair and impartial decision.
Critics of the Jury System were dealth a set back by the verdict.
The jury did send a message - that Detroit deserved better and that no one is above the law.
Judge Nancy Edmunds had a difficult job, and did all the right things, including sending Kilpatrick and Ferguson, immediately to Federal custody (jail).

MIKE DUGGAN - FOR DETROIT MAYOR, SHAME..SHAME
MIKE DUGGAN - FOR DETROIT, ----SHAME SHAME
Mike Duggan says he wants to be Mayor of Detroit, and that Detroit doesn't need an EFM...that he can put together a team and bring Detroit back.
Well if he is that smart and has a team - He should have made a deal with Governor Synder and became Detroit's EFM, taken the heat, turned Detroit around - and then - run for Mayor of Detroit on his EFM record.
But he now just one of a group that talks the talk, pandering talk - about NO EFM needed, no bankruptcy needed.
He also is spouting reportedly bad information about the Detroit Police Department, not having enough police officers, working the streets, with to many sitting behind desks. This fallacy - shows he isn't the answer to make Detroit safer.
DPD - needs a new nationally respected Police Chief, now - now, not after the 2014 elections.
DPD - needs more police officers, on the street, and behind desks to respond to crimes and to investigate crimes. State and Federal grants must provide the money.
DPD - needs jail space and a medical facility, that will house more arrested criminals and a medical facility to decrease the millions of dollars being spent on unecessay prisoner medical expenses.
DPD - needs increased hiring standards, better training and better equipment.
DPD - needs to open all precinct 24/7 and close the mini stations (public relations garbage), and to repair the lost police-community relations, by increasing response times, solving crimes and making feel safe in their homes, schools and walking the streets.

OSCAR - SETH MCFARLANE IS MEDIOCRE HOST
Oscar !!! Seth McFarlane - Mediocre Host, it's true.
Everyone was expecting a edgy comedic show that would equal his TV and movie reputation...but we got boring...
McFarlane provided a too long opening with William Shatner - and then should have checked himself for common sense - for doing a Lincoln assasination joke ????
Maybe the Oscar host, next year should be - TED - the irascible bear, with a real 'Jewish name' who wants to keep working in Hollywood.
Bring back, Bob Hope, Johnny Carson, Billy Crystal....Is there NO one who can fill their shows..

DETROIT CRIME !!! OUT OF CONTROL ?????
DETROIT CRIME !!! OUT OF CONTROL ????
Gangs members (groups) of kids running loose DOWNTOWN - during 'Winter Blast' - Downtown, that is supposed to be the safest place in Detroit, home to new arrivals (Yuppies) who do not see or comprehend the dangers, maybe they didn't see WDIV TV film of up ended tables and chairs at American Coney Island or police chasing kids through the streets.
Crime is out of control in Detroit and as I have said in the past - the Mayor and City Council have not made Crime the #1 issue, in Detroit - they should have spent the time devoted to the Belle Isle issue, on crime and how to protect Detroit residents and visitors.
Detroit needs State and Federal funding to improve the Detroit Police Department, Fire Department and EMS - the Mayor and City Council must go, in person to Lansing and Washington, to request the money.
Detroit should apply, immediately, to be a DRONE test area, Detroit should be a natural and perfect - first site - being the major international boder city, we need the money it will bring and the technology.

I was a member of Gang Squad, assigned by PC Benny Napoleon, because I criticized it..!!
It was a temp assignment.... Required one MUPP arrest on days - protected bars at night...It was a sacred cow, under Benny - a road to promotion for others...I still have my GANG SQD jacket...hat - code name... Newsman
I have said Gang Squad is NOT needed - all those officers should be dispersed to precincts - and that officers supply a central Gang Intelligence Unit - with information that will be collected, analyzed and dispersed to ALL street officers....
One TV station reported that an officer had 300 names of gang members on the East Side, but how many officers on the East side - know those names...??? Signs, colors, logos ??
I am not saying Detroit does not have a gang problem - I have said that DPD needs to combat it, more effectively - that every DPD officer should be gang literate....knowledgeable...aware...
To prevent gang violence every officer should be a source of information - not just merely
responders to gang related violence...

I was a member of Gang Squad, assigned by PC Benny Napoleon, because I criticized it..!!
It was a temp assignment.... Required one MUPP arrest on days - protected bars at night...It was a sacred cow, under Benny - a road to promotion for others...
I still have my GANG SQD jacket...hat - code name... Newsman
I have said Gang Squad is NOT needed - all those officers should be dispersed to precincts - and that officers supply a central Gang Intelligence Unit - with information that will be collected, analyzed and dispersed to ALL street officers....
