DETROIT POLICE OFFICER BRIAN HUFF - CRIME IN DETROIT

Letter to editor - reporters....PO BRIAN HUFF..

Monday's shooting sounds suspicious, he said, contending that it's unusual that a supposed drug dealer would open fire on officers rather than surrender and face a prison stint.

expressed concern that the killing of the officer would ramp up tensions between police and the community....ron scott - detroit free press and detroit news 5/4/10.

Why????? were ignorant, divisive, stupid, inflammatory, wrong comments put in news articles about the killing of a Detroit police officer and the wounding of four officers, by Ron Scott, whose racist comments should have been excluded and ignored - in these articles.

Scott cited statistics that may or not be wrong, but certainly don't tell accurately the story -but were inappropriate ....his statements, which could have been mouthed by a spokesman for the Hutaree...or any hate organization that want to stir up anti police sentiments and fears.

Wake UP - Detroit - you need not fear Detroit Police Officers - fear the black / African-American murderers, rapist, robbers, b&e men, muggers, car thieves that are praying on you - your husband, wife, children, neighbors and friends. Black on Black crime should be your fear - and the police your ally, help them fight crime and criminals.

The Detroit Police Department has and has had a black police chief, with 73% black police officers, with a black mayor - a black city council - if you fear them - Detroit has no future.

Ron Scott - The Detroit News and Detroit Free Press owe PO Huff family and all Detroit Police Officers an apology - for a lapse of judgement - they won't face, criminal charges, civil lawsuits or departmental charges like Detroit Police Officers - do every day, if they lapse in judgement or make a mistake - so remember that - no police officer wants to brutalize a resident or make a mistake because the stakes for police officers are too serious, for them and their families. DLM

Ron Scott, director of the Detroit Coalition Against Police Brutality, called for a full investigation and expressed concern that the killing of the officer would ramp up tensions between police and the community.

"We're calling for an informal meeting with people in the community, and hopefully the chief, so that we can reduce anxiety over this incident rather than increase it," Scott said.
From The Detroit News: http://www.detnews.com/article/20100504/METRO01/5040363/1409/Detroit-officer-s-attempt-to-help-proves-deadly#ixzz0n5IrurCm

Ron Scott, president of the Detroit Coalition Against Police Brutality, said the shooting could be the result of heightened animosity between residents and the police.

He said citizen complaints have jumped 208% this year, mostly stemming from Evans' Mobile Strike Force, which is comprised of units dispatched to crime hot spots to head off suspicious activity and confiscate illegal weapons. Scott said that some officers have unfairly profiled young, black men and used excessive force without probable cause.

Monday's shooting sounds suspicious, he said, contending that it's unusual that a supposed drug dealer would open fire on officers rather than surrender and face a prison stint.

Evans said Scott's comments were insensitive and ignorant. The chief said the suspect's rap sheet, which includes convictions on fleeing and eluding police and attempting to disarm an officer, indicate he has been aggressive toward police before.

"Welcome to the real world," Evans said of Scott. "In case he doesn't know, people don't like to go to prison."

ARIZONA - IMMIGRATION LAWS - ENFORCEMENT - POLICE OFFICERS

I am retired Detroit police officer.....

Still applicable today..........affects everyone..

I responded to a B&E report at a construction site, years ago...when I tried to get info..and see who made the call...no one spoke english...not one of over 8 people...
I called INS & Border Patrol...and each put me off...claiming they didn't have manpower to investigate illegal aliens at a job site...finally border patrol said they would 'refer' the matter to a job site task force...i believe they never investigated the situation...and I never got a call asking for information...

The situation was dangerous because I couldn't get info on anything...couldn't eventually ID anyone, no one seemed to be supervising the construction (let alone construction standards)...and couldn't determine if a crime had occurred - which means additional crimes could still be occurring and workers lives could have been endangered..and later I was told I couldn't investigate or even question immigration status, because we weren't trained and had no authority....that is wrong...

Early in my career around 1979 ..working a morality / vice unit...we raided a blind pig in the Delray area - and called the border patrol because possible immigration violations and a border patrol officer responded and made several arrests...and we worked well together...

INS ...Boder Patrol ....DPD dont have enough officers or agents to enforce immigration laws - which is dangerous to the aliens and national security.....

But working together...we can show some enforcement and be a deterrent...all law enforcement officers local police and state police should have authority to inquire and detain suspected illegal aliens....if they cant speak English - can't produce a drivers license, passport, visa, work papers or a green card..that is probable cause - not profiling....No ethnicity, age, race involved.

Local police agencies shouldn't be bogged down enforcing immigration laws - but they shouldn't have to ignore the enforcement....cooperation....will make us safer - for all........

Sgt DPD Retired

ps..the most important thing that Arizona can do is stop the flow of guns into Mexico
that would make the southerwest border state residents - safer, and the Feds need
to have an assault weapons ban - and cooperate with state and local officials in
States and work more closely with Mexican officials to stem the tide of guns
being smuggled into Mexico.

SAVE TIGER STADIUM - NOW, TELL THE TRUTH

Fenway Park is a town jewel and tourist attraction. Lambeau Field is a tourist attraction and town jewel (and TV star - in commercials seen by millions of Michigan residents). Tiger
Stadium should have been a tourist attraction and town jewel - not to mention TV star, just like Lambeau Field, but alas Mike Ilitch, George Jackson (and the DEGC) along with Detroit Mayors and lackadaisical City Council conspired to allow it fall into 'demolition by neglect' and maybe ultimately into demolition by wrecking ball or melted down to scrap.

Full Count (Aguilar / May 28)...doesn't tell the full story of the decline and fall of historic Detroit Tiger Stadium. George Jackson, of the DEGC, has lied repeatedly to the media and then complains about the attention given to Tiger Stadium development efforts. There was NEVER a level playing field for those who wanted to preserve Tiger Stadium as an entertainment venue that could bring in millions of dollars to the City and millions upon millions of more tourists, added onto the 100,000,000 million visitors that have enjoyed Tiger Stadium as a baseball mecca, a football mecca, a concert venue, a rally venue, a special event venue - not just a 'MLB' venue as Jackson haughtily dismisses Tiger Stadium.

Tiger Stadium had value - to Detroit - and still has even though gutted, it remains a solid well built facility, that could offer a home to Wayne State University sports teams, too rock concerts, political rallies, special events, add a Michigan Sports Hall of Fame - it is not too late.
The final out has not been made - the final chapter in Tiger Stadium has not been written, but if it is..history will hopefully finally tell the truth - that George Jackson and members of the DEGC lied to and misled the Corktown residents, the Detroit Planning Commission, and the residents of Detroit and Michigan. History may record that Mike Ilitch played a major role in the 'demolition by neglect' of historic Detroit Tiger Stadium and that he was a felon, who took $2 - 12 million dollars from the City of Detroit for the maintenance and security of Tiger Stadium and it doesn't look like he spent a dime of it on Tiger Stadium - history should ask as others should - where did the money go? The only difference between Ilitch and convicted felon, Adolph Alfred Taubman is that Taubman took from the rich and Ilitch took badly need dollars from a struggling city.

If historic Detroit Tiger Stadium falls to the wrecking ball, and melted into scrap - of history, it will not be because Ernie Harwell failed, or the Tiger Stadium Conservancy failed, or the Tiger Stadium Fan Club failed, or Frank Rashid failed, or Peter C. Riley failed, or Mickey Briggs failed, or the Fetzer Foundation failed, or Peter Huithwaite failed, or Harry Glanz failed, or any of the others that wanted to preserve and utilize historic Detroit Tiger Stadium - it will be because a Billionaire, his wife and other city politicians and leaders - didn't want to save Tiger Stadium for their own SELFISH reasons, maybe history will find those reasons.

Tiger Stadium is still not history. Save Tiger Stadium - call the Detroit City Council members, including Ken Cockrel, Jr (313 224 4505) and tell them to let Tiger Stadium live and prosper as an entertainment venue and TV star - like Fenway Park and Lambeau Field do.

Full count
Deadline nears in effort to preserve part of Tiger Stadium
Louis Aguilar / The Detroit News

The final out is coming up for Tiger Stadium, as the group seeking to save a portion of the historic ball field faces a Sunday deadline to come up with $369,000 to send the preservation effort into extra innings.

The preservation group -- Old Tiger Stadium Conservancy -- admits it doesn't have that kind of cash. Meanwhile city officials already have approved a demolition contract. They also point out they've seen no solid business plan to support the idea of keeping the old baseball diamond and 3,000 seats to create a Michigan Sports Hall of Fame and mixed-use development.

"It's bottom of the ninth, two outs, bases loaded and a full count," said Ernie Harwell, the Hall of Fame broadcaster who's a member of the conservancy. "We've made tremendous progress, we've got wonderful support from key people, but it's still going to be a battle."

The volunteer nonprofit conservancy maintains it has made progress in identifying short-term and long-term support for the estimated $15 million project, including a pledge by U.S. Sen. Carl Levin, D-Detroit, to seek money from the 2009 federal budget.
But without either the money or another extension of the deadline, the only ball left at Tiger Stadium would be the wrecking ball.

Since last year, the city has given the conservancy group several extensions to come up with money to back its plans, but the Sunday deadline has significant weight. The city already has awarded a demolition contract to two companies to tear down the stadium. That agreement, approved in April, requires the companies to pay the city $300,000 to raze the entire stadium, or pay nothing to do the partial tear-down the conservancy group wants.

A total demolition is cheaper and leaves more iron and other material to be sold for scrap by the two firms, MCM Management Inc. and The Farrow Group Inc. The contractors want an answer on or before Sunday.

State Sen. Steve Tobocman, D-Detroit, House Majority leader and a member of the conservancy effort, said the group has made "great progress." Tobocman said he hopes the June 1 deadline can pass without a final decision.
"I don't think the conservancy is delaying any progress," Tobocman said. "I think the real date is when the wrecking ball comes around to the part of the stadium we want to save. Hopefully, if you have the House majority leader and a U.S. Senator working on this, that can give us some time."

S. Gary Spicer, Harwell's attorney and also a member of the conservancy group, says the organization has identified other sources of financing for the project, from tax credits and foundations and some private donors. The conservancy hasn't asked for public donations yet, Spicer said, because the group didn't want to take money without knowing it had a "solid long-term plan."

City official George Jackson, who also is president of quasi-public Detroit Economic Growth Corp, said time is up. "We've been through now almost eights years of individuals and organizations that said they would renovate the stadium," Jackson said. "This is something that's never been done in history and you guys have given a lot of press to plans that never had a chance. But the bottom line it is a financial impracticality."
The cost of maintaining what the nonprofit wants "is astronomical," Jackson added.
"You need to know how difficult it is for us to maintain institutions that require contributions in general," Jackson said, citing the Detroit Zoo, Detroit Institute of Arts, Music Hall and Orchestra Hall. "They're basically venues that are doing what they are designed to do. And they do well, but it is still challenging in regards to fundraising and capital projects, operating and maintenance."
The flaw, he said, is that no city ever has found a new use for an abandoned Major League Baseball stadium.
"Its use was for a Major League Baseball game. It wasn't meant to be a condominium or a museum. The concept has to be practical and pragmatic and also cost effective. Not one legitimate developer -- throughout this whole process for all these years -- has stepped forward to do this," Jackson said.

"I understand people's sentiment and attachment to history, but let's look at the history of why this is never done," Jackson said.

Despite being caught in a squeeze play between time and money, the conservancy said it will continue its efforts until at least June 1.

DETROIT: ELLA BULLY CUMMINGS, MUST GO - CLEAN SWEEP

Thursday, May 01, 2008

DETROIT - ELLA BULLY CUMMINGS, MUST GO - CLEAN SWEEP

Ella BULLY-Cummings, the Detroit Police Chief, must resign, be fired, or removed from office by the DOJ or FBI.

She has now been tainted and implicated in the sex text message scandal involving Detroit Mayor Kilpatrick and his Chief of Staff Christine Beatty (now resigned). She apparently conspired behing the back of former Police Chief Jeffy Oliver (now resigned) with Christine Beatty and other to undermine Oliver and to make the Detroit Police Internal Affairs Section a politically responsible organ of the Mayor.

Ella has been nothing but a bobble head since her appointment as Chief by Kilpatrick after Oliver resigned. She doesn't appear to have the qualifications to be in charge of a big city police department and after seeing the texts messages and seeing her loyalty to the Mayor - she has forfeited any ethical claim to being Chief of Police.

Her DPD Reorganization Plan is complete failure, that closed police stations - thus closing needed jail space, increased patrol areas, damaged police-community relations, increased police response time, tangled police officers in a crime report system that left them desk bound longer, failed to implement a Verified Response System (for B&E alarms) and has had a continuing revolving door of police executives.

The Board Of Police Commissioners have always failed in their oversight capacity, at least since, Coleman Young became mayor almost 30 years ago. Every police chief since Young has been a failure - because Detrot Mayors have either controlled them or failed to exercise responsibility to remove them when their failures became evident.

Young and his chiefs and Archer with his problem chief and Kilpatrick with another bobble head chief.

Detroit has had a black mayor, black police chiefs and predominately to almost black city council for almost 30 years - now - and an all black school board - and look what we have - failure of leadership, failure of ethics, a city in decline (except for downtown) with a very high crime rate and a high school drop out rate that is appalling and a thorough disgrace.

I have been an outspoken critic of the Detroit Police Dept, its nepotism, croynism and favoritism and failure of this police executives - Detroit Police Officers have not failed its residents or visitors - but its police exectutives, its Mayors, its City Councils and School Board members have.

Its time for a clean sweep. Its time the state and federal government come in and clean house, except that the Governor and Attorney General maybe tainted by Mayor Kilpatrick too.

So its time somebody stepped up and said - I'm mad as hell and I'm not going to take it anymore.

Detroit needs new ethical, professional, honest political leaders and government. --- now.... just do it...

ps...............................................

Stating facts is not race baiting.Archer was a failure as Mayor of Detroit, not as bad as Young or Kilpatrick, but enough to set back Detroit. He had a chance to clean up and improve the Detroit Police Department - He chose Dr. Joe Thomas, Jr of Southfield as Police Chief, but then he got cold feet and then chose Ike McKinnon.

I had great hopes for McKinnon, I offered to help him, but he began to choose old insiders to run the Department - he continued the nepotism, croynism, and favortism that was a cancer on the Department.McKinnon then had an inappropriate sexual affair with a police officer and granted her special favors.

McKinnon then lost control of the Department and allowed the promotional test answers to be given out to his special people. That ruined the lives of hundreds of police officers who passed the test, but lost promotions, pay raises and a better life - when it was found out and the test results nullified.

McKinnon was said to have resigned to become head of MGM Casion security etc etc..but the rumor is the FBI forced him out.

Archer's son was also a problem.

And Detroit's problems grew and grew.Until today - look at Detroit - not a world class city (as Archer wanted) not a great American city - but a city wallowing in scandal, bad city government, and bad schools.

MAYOR KILPATRICK, RESIGN NOW, LIAR, CHEAT, PERJURER..

"I am on a mission from God," how can Detroiters who have a large illiteracy rate, a large poverty rate, without computers, not able to read newspapers and a dearth of ethical leaders to help guide them through this scandal, be asked to 'demand more'.

Their Mayor has spoken, the Free Press/ media is out to get him and God is on his side
look at the progress Downtown - it must be true. Don't look at the police department with a failed reorganization plan, that shut down 50% of the jail space, spends millions of dollars on unnecessary prisoner medical expenses and has virtually abandoned it police headquarters with no plans for a new jail/medical facility or headquarters. A city council that can't and won't lead and has its own ethical failures. Its school board that has organizational and ethical problems as well.

Those residents that can - have the means to leave, have left, for the suburbs with safe streets and good schools - black and white residents this is not a racial exodus, but a better life exodus.

The Detroit Free Press, Detroit News, TV and radio stations must lead. They must with one voice say: Mayor Kilpatrick - Resign Now....with no equivocations. He and his administration has permanently injured and damaged the City.

TO THE KILPATRICK'S, VERDICT FAIR, PAY UP, RESPECT DETROIT

MAMA KILPATRICK - A CONGRESSWOMAN NO LESS -
SHOULD - SHUT UP!

SHE SAID, 'WERE GOING TO APPEAL' - SINCE WHEN DOES SHE SPEAK FOR DETROIT. SHE IS WRONG TO SPEAK UP FOR HER SON, IN THIS SITUATION.SHE IS WRONG TO ENCOURAGE HIM TO APPEAL.

HOPEFULLY THE CITY COUNCIL WILL HAVE THE COURAGE, BACKBONE AND GUTS TO STAND UP AND SAY - IT'S FINISHED, DETROIT TAXPAYERS WILL NOT PAY FOR AN APPEAL - THIS IS A PERSONAL MATTER NOW, KILPATRICK - FAMILY AND FRIENDS CAN PAY FOR AN APPEAL, NOT DETROIT TAXPAYERS..

NOW IS THE TIME FOR THE DETROIT CITY COUNCIL TO STAND UP..STAND UP FOR DETROIT. CALL (313 224 4500) - COUNCILMAN KEN COCKREL, JR AND TELL HIM TO STAND UP FOR DETROIT - END THE LAWSUIT NOW. PAY AND WALK AWAY.

************************ **************************************************************
Facilitators and Enablers - those who support Mayor Kilpatrick.

"Even an ameba,(a one cell organism) knows better than to investigate the Mayor" - PC Jerry Oliver. That tells the awful TRUTH - that people think the Mayor is above the law - and he has acted that way and continues to lie deny and cover up his criminal acts - which are now hopefully being investigated by the Dept of Justice and FBI, at my request.

The Attorney General investigation was a farce and a crime in itself.I had to deal with a police department that if riff with nepotism, favoritism and croynism. It is poorly lead by police executives who make political decisions not decisions based on sound police policies.

This was proved in the Whistle Blower case - The people of Detroit, visitors and police officers are not properly being protected by the police department because of poor decisions made by police exectives that aren't capable of making those decisions and who are politically corrupted.

The failure after four years to meet compliance with the Dept of Justice Consent Decrees shows Detroit doesn't have the leadership to comply with the law and protect Detroit residents.Detroit has had poor political leadership - from its Mayors, City Council Members and school board members and a bad police department since - Coleman Young and it continues today - that needs to change, but it won't because the people of Detroit are being lied to and lead by people with poor ethical and leadership skills.

Detroit residents, visitors, school children and police officers deserve better.
***************************** *************************************************************
CIVIL LAWSUITS are different than criminal lawsuits.
The burden of proof is preponderance of the evidence and the Plantiffs did show that they were fired for trying to report and investigate criminal misconduct by Mayor Kilpatrick, which was their duty.

Remember this quote - " even an ameba is smart enough not to investigate the Mayor (Kilpatrick)" that from x-Detroit Police Chief Jerry Oliver, who was sworn to uphold the law, but abdicated his ethical, legal and morale responsibility and allowed DC Brown to be fired.
They were assembling and reporting information of criminal conduct by the Mayor, his wife and his body guards. They were stopped / fired for doing this - now hopefully the Department of Justice / FBI will begin to examine this information further, at my request.
The Michigan State Police investigation was obstructed by Attorney General Michael Cox, for political purposes and gain - he must be investigated, also - along with Governor Granholm.MSP Investigators are still collecting information about the cases.

Overtime abuses by Jones and Martin, which would have landed any regular police officer in jail or fired, were not pursued by the City or Attorney General - Why Not????? There was ample evidence presented by the Plaintiffs to justify this $6.5+ million dollar award and it should have been higher.
The City just spent $7.million dollars paving 10 acres of Belle Isle - where did this money come from - come from - the taxpayers of Detroit.

And now comes word to contradict the Mayor - he lied - Detroit has a budgeted $40 million dollar fund to pay for lawsuits against the City.

And look for $$$$$ Millions of dollars to be paid to @ 400 complainants in the Grace v. Detroit (Police) residency lawsuit, that the City lost - compensation packages are being prepared now - some will go out by the end of September. In this lawsuit the Plantiffs won because the City would not take applications for the Police Department from suburbanites.

The DPD is also facing a lawsuit for violating Equal Employment Opportunity Laws (EEOC) in and around 2004 - EEOC laws - for not properly processing white applicants.- where are the civil rights activists - now, more millions to be lost by the Kilpatrick / Bully-Cummings adminstration. They don't LEARN.

MAYOR KILPARICK SHOULD RESIGN - NOW...

Mayor Kilpatrick should resign.....now...

Is the Mayor going to bring the barbershop woman to court to tell - I manicured his nails??
Is the Mayor going to bring the fur coat woman to court to tell - I wasn't naked???
Are Martin and (Lewis) err Jones going to repay the false overtime money - or for the damage police cars????? If I or any police officer other than this - bada bing duo did this we would be in jail....in jail...............as an example to all...........
Is the Mayor going to say - the panties in the car - were Carlita's?????
Why isn't Carlita going to say - I didn't assault a stripper????? and threaten my husband?

He has lied to his wife (though she knows the truth), to the people of Detroit - he should resign, at least Clinton finally admitted his lies....and faced consequences...and the Governor and Attorney General maybe accomplices....

Kilpatrick allowed $1,000,000 in unnecessary police protection for his Leslie St. house - so he could party at the Mansion for a year ( I had to sit f/o his house)..while police runs backed up in my precinct.......no media listened to me then...if they had maybe this could have been nipped in the bud / prevented...

Kilpatrick should face the consequences that Young and Archer escaped and show residents, visitors and the business community that Detroit is not a cesspool of bad leadership ( including police chief's and council members)...
Let's talk............ David L. Malhalab - Sgt DPD Retired

Stephen J. Murphy
US Attorney, Eastern District of Michigan
Detroit, Michigan

Dear Mr. Murphy,

I request a Federal investigation of Michigan Governor Jennifer Granholm, Michigan Attorney General Michael Cox, Detroit Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick and Chief Ella Bully-Cummings of the Detroit Police Department.

I request that you investigate whether Cox was paid off / bought off and conspired, with the Governor, Mayor and Police Chief, to obstruct justice by interfering with the Michigan State Police investigation of a Manogian Mansion party and his failure to properly investigate the Manogian Mansion party, in which the Mayor’s wife, Carlita, was alleged to have assaulted a female exotic dancer and her eventual homicide, and the cover-up thereafter, that resulted in the current Whistleblower case in Detroit.

Cox, I believe was paid off by the Governor and Mayor by not using his admitted adultery in the recent AG election and by putting up a Democratic candidate that was weak opponent for AG. Thus, the AG declared the ‘party’ and ‘urban legend’ and failed to assist and cooperate with the MSP investigation, leading to an incomplete investigation into alleged criminal activity.

MAYOR OF DETROIT - MANOGIAN MANSION SCANDAL - WE NEED THE TRUTH

MANOGIAN MANSION PARTY - SCANDAL
Aug 1, 2007 9:36 PMCategory:

firejerryo.com CLICK N READ.................

Should whistleblowers settle?Last week the question was should the city settle with the whistleblowers this week the question is should the whistleblowers want to settle.Reasons why they shouldn't:

Reason #1: Personal ReputationsThe lives of Harold Nelthrope and Gary Brown and their families have been changed forever. Mayor Kilpatrick and his Chief of Staff Christine Beatty along with several subordinates or hired hands slandered and mischaracterized Nelthrope and Brown just because they were doing their jobs. If they choose to, they have the right now to go into court and clear their names and hopefully have their reputations restored. Believing that money can restore what they've lost after all the years of pain and mental anguish maybe the mistake of this administration.

Reason #2: People's right to knowAt the outset of this saga there were people on all sides. You had the apologist for Kilpatrick and well as the antagonist but more than both are those who simply want to hear the truth. The people have been given the bill for all of the high priced lawyers the Kilpatrick administration hired to stop this case from going forward and its the people who will be given the bill whether there is a settlement or a jury award. That said it seems only fair if we the people are force to pay for Kilpatrick's over indulgence we should at least know the truth.

Reason #3: Victim's Right to knowFormer Officer Walt Harris uprooted his family and left the State after feeling intimidated by emissaries of the Kilpatrick administration. Harris, you recall testified in a deposition that he drove mayor Kilpatrick to the lofts where Kilpatrick went inside with a female waiting outside the gate for him with just a fur coat on and nothing else. Harris, a former bodyguard for Mayor Kilpatrick said he also took Mayor Kilaptrick to the barbershop to meet another woman. Harris testified under oath that he and another officer found a set of torn panties in the rear of the mayors chauffered driven SUV after a night out by Mayor Kilpatrick. Other lives have been adversely affected by the entire Manoogian Party saga. Former Lieutenant Alvin Bowan was transferred for continuing his investigation of the death of exotic dancer Tamara Greene, he later retired. Other officers were harassed and threatened before leaving the department. Investigative reporters were threatened with lawsuits and in some cases told by their editors to back off. This writer was suspended and remains so for talking about the alleged party. Lest we forget the dancers who were killed who rumors suggested danced at the alleged party. Even though an open trial will not bring closure to the Greene family as I suggested before, what they believe or seek is undoubtedly different than what I think they seek.List your reasons in the blog..

PS...We must also know the TRUTH, If the Governor and Mayor conspired to pay off AG Cox - with a weak opponent - to NOT really investigate the Party and to frustrate the MSP investigation - David L. Malhalab Sgt DPD Retired

BRIDGES, ROADS... WATER

ASPHALT & CONCRETE CONSORTIUM ! and Water Conservation ..Aug 2, 2007

HELLO DETROIT, MICHIGAN, USA.........................
'A bridge in the United States should not just collapse'

But it did in Minnesota ..just collapsed killing unknown number of people at this time...the I-35W bridge........

When I ran for the Michigan Senate, I wrote about the Asphalt and Concrete Consortium, who have us trapped into spending billions upon billions of dollars for street and highway construction for the rest of anyones life - so far into the future that we can't imagine and end. I urged Governor Granholm to order a 'stop' to all new road construction in Michigan - she had favored that but the A&CC and their lobbyists got her to back off.

President Eisenhower spoke just before leaving office in 1961, of the growing threat of the Military-Industial complex - we still have that and I have added the Asphalt & Concrete Consortium..

We need an immediate end to all new road construction - and the begining of a concerted effort to repair all of our infrastructure problems - roads, bridges, water, sewage etc...a billions upon billions of dollar job - just in Michigan... I heard for the USA, its a $600 Billion dollar job - almost what we have spent on Iraq, so far.

Michigan should take the lead, with our depressed economy - the effort must begin - now, because each year the problem will grow more expensive and daunting...no new roads ...its a start.

PS: Michigan should also, introduce mandatory statewide odd - even water conservation programs - now - and lead the nation in trying to limit the waste of a finite amount of fresh drinkable water. Future generations may ever wonder and depise us for wasting water - conserve water NOW....
