If I had been given the order to turn over evidence to MSP and close the lab - and failed, I would be blogging you from jail - misconduct in office ++++.
Or be fired by trial board - fail to follow direct order - neglect of duty +++++
what does it do to morale - to have the chief - screw up so bad and not be disciplined, when the DPD disciplines officers and takes pay and benefits from officers for far less serious violations of the rules and regulations...if not criminal behavior...???????
Godbee should be fired - DOJ Judge Julian Cook should be replaced - and either get a new chief or get a federal DPD monitor to take control of the DPD.
I spent over 30 yrs...writing in the Tuebor, talking to reporters about the nepotism, favoritism, cronyism and mismanagement of the DPD - it started (during my career 1977 - with Mayor Young and well liked but illiterate PC Hart (who was convicted as a felon),it continued with chief after bad chief...now thru Godbee (a Kilpatrick supporter and adulterer...and things are not better.
I put my career and safety in danger, by speaking out and lost time because of it...and Godbee gets a pass????. I lost six (6) days pay and benefits for talking to Mike Lewis of WDIV TV, about the Beatty traffic stop - never mentioned Kilpatrick or Beatty by name, the ACLU had to get the DPD to cancel a teletype that violated my Constitutional Rights, but I didn't get my pay back.
Detroit residents deserve better...DPD officers deserve better...

TONIGHT - THE FAILURE OF LEADERSHIP IN DETROIT, ITS MAYOR KWAME KILPRATICK - SPOKE ABOUT THE STATE OF DETROIT.
EXPECTATIONS OF EXCELLENCE - The Mayor has failed the residents of Detroit, its vistors, BUT not his supporters who gave an embarrassingly long welcoming applause - for a mayor involved in such crimes as, obstruction of justice, conspiracy to obstruct justice, perjury and is probably the subject of FBI investigation involving murder and public corruption.
kilpatrick.....failure on police issues...
* mobile police stations - need to be manned by police officers, they need more officers in the current district stations, not a 'its showtime' mobile police stations. There is a need for police officers in district stations to take reports now - taking more officers and putting in another area - its wrong.
* honor EEOC laws - that detroit has failed since 1974 to do....
* low pay, bad policies need to be addressed: crisnet, reorganization plan
* coleman young always used the police dept to get elected, garner support in troubled times - same strategy
* detroit needs a new outside police chief...best and brightest - not a bobblehead.
* the police districts are too large to properly patrol - need more actual olice stations. $600,000 worth of stolen items from closed police stations.
* detroit needs black role models - the mayor is not one, a failure as a husband, man, political leader.
* the 'haddad memo' confirmed what i have been saying -
* detroit police executive leadership has failed detroit residents visitors not its police officers...
Mayor Kilpatrick has the breeding and the credentials to have been a great mayor - but he failed, he disappointed. He must resign. But he will not because of his EGO and the need for city attorneys to fight the inevitable - his removal from office or his going to jail.
Detroit has a right - to ethical, honest political leadership - Mayor its time to leave.

MAYOR KILPATRICK SCANDAL, BEWARE DETROIT & MICHIGAN
BEWARE: Michigan legislators and business leaders, the Mayor of Detroit Kwame Kilpatrick, has been publicly ensnared in a sex, lies (perjury) text messaging scandal that he and his supporters say, he can recover from, but has implications state wide.
Mayor Kilpatrick's 'urban legend' discounted by Michigan Attorney General Michel Cox, who state police investigators have testified to - that he obstructed their investigation - was a bachelor party at the Manogian Mansion, home of Detroit's Mayor's, in which Kilpatrick's wife, Carlita, was alleged to have feloniously assaulted an exotic dancer / stripper by the name of Tamara Greene, who was later murdered in a drive by shooting, after telling people she danced at the Mayor's party.
Their was an alleged cover up, that now includes the Governor, Jennifer Granholm, the Attorney General, the Mayor and members of his administration including two police chiefs.Some people believe that the Governor, the Mayor conspired with Mike Cox to cover up the party, with Cox getting a weak opponent and no mention of his infidelity, in his reelection race.
Attorney Norman Yatooma, has filed a $150 million dollar lawsuit, against the City of Detroit, that now again includes the Mayor, his sex partner/chief of staff Christine Beatty, body guards, and other administration members. Yatooma has requested the text messages, emails, voicemails etc of 34 people including the Mayor, security guards (some of whom may have committed fraud in getting hundreds of hours of unearned overtime), police chiefs, and homicide investigators.
The Mayor's troubles are larger than perjury and everyone should look at the big picture and take action to protect the state and Detroit. Detroit has had ethical failures of leadership and poor leadership since, Mayor Coleman Young, including city council members and school board members. Detroit faces maybe its greatest test, now - don't be surprised if it ends badly. David L. Malhalab.

Gary Brown, fired for investigating the Mayor and his bodyguards, (Whistleblowers lawsuit said last night (2-27-08), on Chl 7, that there was enough information in his investigation, to believe that the Manogian Mansion party occured, and that needs further investigation. Should whistleblowers settle?Last week the question was should the city settle with the whistleblowers this week the question is should the whistleblowers want to settle.Reasons why they shouldn't:
Reason #1: Personal ReputationsThe lives of Harold Nelthrope and Gary Brown and their families have been changed forever. Mayor Kilpatrick and his Chief of Staff Christine Beatty along with several subordinates or hired hands slandered and mischaracterized Nelthrope and Brown just because they were doing their jobs. If they choose to, they have the right now to go into court and clear their names and hopefully have their reputations restored. Believing that money can restore what they've lost after all the years of pain and mental anguish maybe the mistake of this administration.
Reason #2: People's right to knowAt the outset of this saga there were people on all sides. You had the apologist for Kilpatrick and well as the antagonist but more than both are those who simply want to hear the truth. The people have been given the bill for all of the high priced lawyers the Kilpatrick administration hired to stop this case from going forward and its the people who will be given the bill whether there is a settlement or a jury award. That said it seems only fair if we the people are force to pay for Kilpatrick's over indulgence we should at least know the truth.
Reason #3: Victim's Right to knowFormer Officer Walt Harris uprooted his family and left the State after feeling intimidated by emissaries of the Kilpatrick administration. Harris, you recall testified in a deposition that he drove mayor Kilpatrick to the lofts where Kilpatrick went inside with a female waiting outside the gate for him with just a fur coat on and nothing else. Harris, a former bodyguard for Mayor Kilpatrick said he also took Mayor Kilaptrick to the barbershop to meet another woman. Harris testified under oath that he and another officer found a set of torn panties in the rear of the mayors chauffered driven SUV after a night out by Mayor Kilpatrick. Other lives have been adversely affected by the entire Manoogian Party saga. Former Lieutenant Alvin Bowan was transferred for continuing his investigation of the death of exotic dancer Tamara Greene, he later retired. Other officers were harassed and threatened before leaving the department. Investigative reporters were threatened with lawsuits and in some cases told by their editors to back off. This writer was suspended and remains so for talking about the alleged party. Lest we forget the dancers who were killed who rumors suggested danced at the alleged party. Even though an open trial will not bring closure to the Greene family as I suggested before, what they believe or seek is undoubtedly different than what I think they seek.List your reasons in the blog..

HELLO DETROIT, MICHIGAN, USA.........................
'A bridge in the United States should not just collapse'
But it did in Minnesota ..just collapsed killing unknown number of people at this time...the I-35W bridge........
When I ran for the Michigan Senate, I wrote about the Asphalt and Concrete Consortium, who have us trapped into spending billions upon billions of dollars for street and highway construction for the rest of anyones life - so far into the future that we can't imagine and end. I urged Governor Granholm to order a 'stop' to all new road construction in Michigan - she had favored that but the A&CC and their lobbyists got her to back off.
President Eisenhower spoke just before leaving office in 1961, of the growing threat of the Military-Industial complex - we still have that and I have added the Asphalt & Concrete Consortium..
We need an immediate end to all new road construction - and the begining of a concerted effort to repair all of our infrastructure problems - roads, bridges, water, sewage etc...a billions upon billions of dollar job - just in Michigan... I heard for the USA, its a $600 Billion dollar job - almost what we have spent on Iraq, so far.
Michigan should take the lead, with our depressed economy - the effort must begin - now, because each year the problem will grow more expensive and daunting...no new roads ...its a start.
PS: Michigan should also, introduce mandatory statewide odd - even water conservation programs - now - and lead the nation in trying to limit the waste of a finite amount of fresh drinkable water. Future generations may ever wonder and depise us for wasting water - conserve water NOW....
